Here are a few questions that have been asked during the road shows so far:
Q. What is inter-net?
A. A week long Scout Network camp.
Q. Who is inter-net for?
A. All members of Scout Network and those Explorer Scouts aged 17 and above. In short you must be aged 17-24 the week of the event.
Q. Why is the event open to the age range 17-24 and not 18 to 25?
A. The whole aim of the event is to help raise the profile of the Scout Network section and give the opportunity for Scout Network to recruit Explorer Scouts who will be able to join Network in the 6-12 months subsequent to the event. We think Inter-net will be an excellent link and introduction to Scout Network for older Explorer Scouts. Since July 2010, Explorer Scouts must move on from Explorer Scouts by their 18th birthday and Scout Network members must leave the section on their 25th birthday.
Q. When is inter-net?
A. Saturday 23rd - Saturday 30th July 2011
Q. Where is inter-net?
A. Newbury Showground, Newbury, Berkshire
Q. How much is it to attend?
A. £260 for Scout Network members & Explorer Scouts aged 17 and above.
Q. When do I have to pay?
A. We are taking deposits now. If you pay your deposit before 31st August 2010 you will get a £20 discount on the total price.
Q. I can't afford to pay the amount in full. Is there an option to spread the cost?
A. Yes, we have set up a payment plan, breaking the cost down into '5' easy installments. You can also pay a smaller amount on a weekly or monthly basis to make paying for inter-net 2011 even more flexible. As long as you meet the required payment deadlines, we are happy for you to pay in a flexible manner that meets your needs. For example, weekly or fortnightly payments via standing order.
Q. How can I pay?
A. You can pay by cheque, cash or bank transfer (the preferred method); payment details will be sent to you once you have registered.
Q. How do I register?
A. Just visit our website - www. inter-net. org. uk , and go to the Registration menu on the home page. Complete the registration form and consider yourself an official inter-net 2011 participant.
Q. Inter-net 2011 looks amazing but I am over 25 the week of the event. How can I get involved?
A. Don't worry, go to the staff pages of this site where jobs available are being advertised. You can simply apply online. Scout Network leaders can also attend with their Scout Network providing they hold the appointment of Scout Network leader and attending the event purely in a supportive role. A special price of £150 will be charged for Scout Network leaders, though this only includes camp fees, evening entertainment and the special event. It does not include the daytime activity programme.
How can I pay?
You can pay by cheque or online, via standing order or direct debit. When you register you will receive an e-mail from the Inter-net 2011 team, explaining how you can pay and giving you the details to do so. We have created a structured payment plan. However, if you want to spread out the cost even further, for example, paying weekly or fortnight you can do so! If you break the costs down and take advantage of the £20 discount, it comes to just under £6 per week...... an absolute bargain!
